Confidentiality Notice

Due to the confidential nature of this project, specific details and visuals cannot be shared. The following overview summarizes my role and design approach at a high level.

The Product

The project focuses on redesigning the e-banking and m-banking applications for Indosuez, aiming to improve usability, ensure consistency, and optimize critical user flows, with a particular focus on transfer journeys. My work spans both desktop and mobile experiences, enhancing interactions across the banking ecosystem.

The Problem

The existing e-banking and m-banking platforms had usability issues and inconsistencies within the transfer flows. Users experienced unclear navigation, interaction friction, and difficulties completing tasks efficiently, highlighting the need for a redesign that would simplify the process and improve the overall user experience.

The Goal

The goal of the project was to improve the usability and clarity of the transfer flows while implementing a short-term set of design adjustments to enhance immediate user experience. The project also aimed to ensure design consistency, streamline interactions, and validate solutions through usability testing with real clients, ultimately providing a more intuitive and efficient banking experience.

Design Process

How I approached it:

  • Understand: Analyzed current transfer flows, gathered user insights, and mapped pain points. Studied real client behaviors and internal workflows to identify critical improvements.

  • Ideate: Explored multiple design solutions for transfer journeys, focusing on simplifying steps, clarifying labels, and improving feedback and confirmation messages. Proposed ways to make complex tasks intuitive and user-friendly.

  • Validate: Tested prototypes with real users and iterated based on observations and feedback. Ensured that changes reduced errors, increased efficiency, and improved overall satisfaction.

  • Implement: Collaborated closely with development teams to ensure designs were implemented correctly. Validated interactions, visual consistency, and responsiveness across desktop and mobile platforms.

What I Did:

  • Redesigned transfer journeys: Led the redesign of domestic and international transfer flows, including multi-currency and SWIFT transfers. Streamlined steps for account selection, beneficiary verification, and confirmation screens, ensuring compliance with banking regulations while reducing friction and potential user errors. Introduced real-time validation of IBANs and beneficiary information to prevent failed transactions.

  • UX/UI audits: Conducted comprehensive audits of the existing flows to identify usability issues, inconsistencies, and friction points. This included analyzing components, error rates, navigation patterns, and feedback messages, ensuring the redesign addressed real pain points.

  • Usability testing: Tested transfer flows with real clients across retail and private banking segments. Observed issues with multi-step authentication, currency selection, and recurring payments, and iterated on UI elements to minimize mistakes and optimize completion time.

  • Wireframes & interactive prototypes: Designed HiFi wireframes and Figma prototypes for complex flows like standing transfers, entered transfer and double validation transfers. Included error handling states, confirmation screens, and secure authentication prompts tailored for high-value banking transactions.

  • MiFID form design: Designed the MiFID regulatory form from scratch for compliance with investment suitability requirements. This resulted in a clean and clear structure, organized into sections and easy-to-follow steps, ensuring that it is dynamic and does not seem long with so many questions. Ensured accessibility and mobile-readiness while keeping sensitive financial data secure.

  • Developer collaboration: Participated in Storybook sessions and sprint reviews to ensure components were implemented correctly, responsive, and compliant with internal security and accessibility standards.
